# Uninstall Luria Source: https://www.luriart.com/docs/reference/uninstall Plain text: https://www.luriart.com/docs/reference/uninstall.txt Remove Luria from Shopify or from a script install, what stops immediately, what stays in visitors' browsers, and how to get your data deleted. Removing Luria takes a minute, and your pages go back to their own content on the next load. Luria never edited your theme or your HTML, so there is nothing to undo. ## What you'll need * Shopify: admin access to the store. * Script install: access to the template that holds your ``. * If you want your data gone as well, do the export or delete first (see below). ## Before you uninstall Export or delete first. "Export everything (JSON)" and "Delete synced data…" live in the Luria app inside your Shopify admin, and that page is unreachable once the app is gone. See [Deletion and the DPA](/privacy/deletion-and-dpa). If you only want changes to stop, you do not need to uninstall at all. In Shopify admin go to Online Store, Themes, Customize, App embeds, switch **Luria** off and Save. Serving stops within about 60 seconds and everything else stays put. ## Steps Remove the Luria app from the apps list in your Shopify admin. Shopify tells Luria straight away, and Luria then: * marks the connection uninstalled and deletes the stored access tokens, * pauses the site, so variant serving goes quiet within about 60 seconds, * cancels the subscription, so an uninstalled store is never charged again. The app embed goes with the app, so there is nothing to remove from your theme. Delete the one line from your `` and publish: ```html ``` That is the whole removal. There is no uninstall button for a script install. If you want serving stopped rather than removed, email [hello@luriart.com](mailto:hello@luriart.com) and Luria pauses the site for you. ## What stays in visitors' browsers The snippet stored a few keys in each visitor's own browser, and it cannot reach in to clear them once the tag is gone. They are inert: nothing reads them or sends them anywhere without the snippet running. * `luria_consent`, that visitor's Accept or Decline answer * `luria_sid`, their random visitor id * `luria_arms`, which arm of each test they were shown * `luria_test` and `luria_arm`, attribution for a funnel in progress * `luria_conv:`, order tokens already counted * `luria_af:`, the anti-flicker flag per page * `luria_rc` on Shopify, the app embed's cached config A visitor clears them by clearing site data for your domain. There is nothing you need to do. ## After uninstall: your data Uninstalling does not delete your data by itself. Three routes do: * Delete synced data in the app, before you uninstall. * Shopify's shop redact request, which arrives after an uninstall and is handled automatically. Visitor events, change history, the site record, the connection, data sync jobs, install events, your consent record and every synced Shopify object are removed. The aggregate usage counter is kept as the billing record. * Email [privacy@luriart.com](mailto:privacy@luriart.com) at any time. Requests are answered within 30 days. Raw events also age out on their own, about 90 days after they were recorded. ## Verify it worked * Load your storefront in a private window with the Network tab open. No request to luriart.com should appear. * Shopify: the theme editor no longer lists a Luria app embed. * Your pages show your own copy again. Hard reload once if a cached page still shows a variant. ## Common failures * **Changes still appear.** Give it about a minute for the config to expire, then hard reload. A page cached by your CDN can hold a variant a little longer. * **You removed the script but Shopify still tracks.** The app embed is a separate install path. Uninstall the app, or switch the embed off in the theme editor. * **You uninstalled and now want your data.** The app page is gone. Email [privacy@luriart.com](mailto:privacy@luriart.com). * **You are still being billed.** Uninstalling cancels the subscription.
