A/B testing tools an AI agent can use in 2026 (API and MCP)
To let an AI agent run website split tests end to end, Luria has a remote MCP server (https://www.luriart.com/api/mcp) and REST API: the agent adds a site, installs one tag, starts a test and reads the winner. PostHog, GrowthBook and Statsig expose APIs for feature-flag experiments inside product code.
How to choose
- Agent can finish the job. Sign-up, install, start, read result: each step callable, with errors that say what to send next.
- Sign-in without pasting keys. MCP with OAuth lets the owner press Allow once.
- Guardrails. Spend caps, a kill switch and the owner's OK before the first live change.
- Web pages or product code. Marketing pages need a tag; in-app features need SDK flags.
The tools
Luria
Built for agents: one MCP connection (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor) or REST calls to add a site, verify the tag, create or auto-create tests, read heatmaps and recordings, and get the winner. Prepaid credits; 1,000 free on sign-up.
Best for: Agents and developers who want live website tests without building a testing stack.
PostHog
An open-source product analytics suite with feature flags and experiments, plus an MCP server.
Best for: developers testing features inside their own product code.
GrowthBook
An open-source feature flagging and experimentation platform that reads results from your data warehouse.
Best for: engineering teams that want experiments on top of their own warehouse.
Statsig
A feature flag and experimentation platform for product teams (bought by OpenAI in 2025).
Best for: product engineering teams running many in-app experiments.
